So much to do, so little Taos time.
Here are some of our favorite places to eat, sip, shop, and explore—plus a few spots that are only open when the stars align (you’ll know them when you see them). If you only have an afternoon to explore, we’d recommend heading to the Plaza and seeing what hidden gems you stumble upon.

The Love Apple – A cozy and romantic spot for dinner, with a menu focused on local and organic ingredients. Reservations recommended! Cash/check only.
Manzanita Market – Farm-fresh breakfasts, wholesome lunches, and a laid-back atmosphere.
Michael’s Kitchen – A Taos institution! Famous for donuts and generous helpings of New Mexican classics.
Gutiz – Latin-French fusion and the best French toast in town.
Aceq – Elevated comfort food and creative cocktails in Arroyo Seco.
Taos Cow Anglada – Swing by for Green Chile Stew and ice cream.
Taos Mesa Brewery Mothership – On the mesa west of town, with sweeping views, live music, and pizza and beer.
Taos Mesa Brewery Tap Room – Right off the Plaza—perfect for a beer and a bite after exploring shops and galleries.
Bread Company – We love grabbing coffee at Coffee Apothecary next door, then hopping over for a pastry or a full breakfast.
Lambert’s Upstairs Bar – Tucked away above Lambert’s restaurant, this cozy bar is great for drinks and small bites.

Tomorrow & Tomorrow (TNT) – Amazing toast, sourdough everything, and a cozy vibe.
World Cup – Tiny, bustling, and full of charm.
Social Club – A fun spot for craft cocktails and good music.
Adobe Bar – Otherwise known as “the living room of Taos.” Great spot for margaritas inside the historic Taos Inn.
Chokola – Artisanal chocolate and sipping chocolate that’s perfect for a treat.
Tea.o.graphy – Enjoy a wide variety of locally blended teas.
A Salty Little Sweet Shop – Cute bakery with creative desserts and a rotating selection of salty-sweet treats.
KOKO Coffee/Deli/Carry-Out – A local favorite for breakfast burritos, deli sandwiches, and strong coffee to-go.

The Arc and anewera – Thoughtfully curated vintage shop with art, gifts, and home goods.
Camino Mojo – Great for vintage, clothing, and handmade treasures.
Twirl – A magical kids’ store (with a free playspace in the back).
Taos Cookery – All things kitchen and cooking, with fun local finds.
Everywhere Taos – Beautiful goods from local artists.
Reneaux – One of the best consignment shops we’ve ever been to.
Taos Mountain Outfitters – If you forgot anything outdoorsy.
Cid’s – The local “fancy” grocery store. Great if you need snacks or a picnic spread.
Sanctuary City Rings – If you're lucky, they'll be open—this quirky shop is full of Taos character.
Taxonomy – Modern design meets New Mexico soul in this elevated boutique.
LUN + OJO Gallery – Contemporary and captivating art, home goods, and objects of curiosity.
MoMo – A beautifully curated jewelry shop with one-of-a-kind pieces.

Earthship Biotecture – Quirky, fascinating, and one-of-a-kind. Worth a visit!
Rio Grande Gorge Bridge – Iconic views and a great photo stop.
Taos Art Museum at Fechin House – Gorgeous architecture and beautiful artwork.
Revolt Gallery – Bold, offbeat art in a tiny, unforgettable space.
Couse-Sharp Historic Site – Old studios, big history, very Taos.
Harwood Museum of Art – A local treasure featuring work from Northern New Mexico artists and beyond.

Los Rios River Runners – Rafting trips for all experience levels, with incredible views of the Rio Grande Gorge.
El Salto Trail – A short, peaceful hike near Arroyo Seco with forest views and a waterfall if you’re feeling adventurous.
Devisadero Loop – A mellow 3-mile loop just outside town with sweeping valley views—perfect for a morning hike.
